4 Tools Every Professional Contractor Should Have for a Renovation

As a professional renovation contractor, you often are quite busy looking for more clients as well as balancing your books and so much more. All this can be a bit overwhelming. However, proper organization is the secret to more efficient work. In line with this, there are tons of tools you often use but some you may have purchased but never even used. Here is a checklist of must-have tools in this profession.

Hammer

Hammers come in different shapes and sizes, and each has various uses. However, as a home improvement contractor, you need a hammer especially if your client needs you to tear apart any structure. For example, a sledge hammer works well for such a thing. A claw hammer is also a necessity especially if your work consists of pounding or removing nails. Different types of hammers have different uses, depending on the application.  Make sure to use the correct hammer for your situation, and be aware of your surroundings while using it. This will help keep yourself and others that might be around you safe and secure. This is how you do it, safely.

Ladders

It may seem very basic but having a ladder especially for construction work is highly beneficial. You don’t want to use the client’s bucket for a painting job given. Accidents do occur, and you may find yourself falling off and breaking a leg or arm. Never take chances with safety when using ladders.  There is simply no time for that. You can purchase a basic step ladder or an extension ladder, and you are sure of your safety. You should use a safety harness as well, this will ensure that you will be safe even if you do happen to fall.  You will swing instead of smacking the ground.

Air Compressor

Talk of a jack of all trades. Purchasing an air compressor is a lifesaver in most renovation projects. An air compressor can power a spray gun which will automatically speed up the time taken painting any furniture or cabinets. Also, if you own a nail gun, you will need an air compressor which is a cheaper option than purchasing battery-operated nailers. Work is made easier with purchasing an air compressor because if you need to get a bolt out, you just need an air ratchet powered by an air compressor that will remove it in seconds.

Backpack Blower

Now this one just sounds like a lot of fun. It is only natural for you to take the time to clean up once you complete a renovation job. A backpack blower works fast. It is capable of cleaning the site in seconds and ensuring that it is sparkling clean. In short, you don’t have to sweat it considering you may be exhausted from the job. This will also increase your chances of getting referrals from the same client if you do a splendid job.

The tools above should be a priority list and are a good starter packer for you if you are new to the renovation industry. Are any of the tools missing in your store, grab them and be assured that your work will flow smoothly.
