5 DIY Projects That Will Enhance Your Home’s Interior

Most homeowners want to live in a house that has an updated interior setting that looks contemporary. It can be easy to assume that you need a significant amount of money to redesign the inside property, but there are several projects that you can do yourself. If you want to create a beautiful environment that feels like home, there are a few DIY projects to consider.

1. Add a New Backsplash

Backsplashes are one of the most popular trends in the kitchen and add a high level of appeal due to the extra detail that is incorporated into the room with the feature. Update your backsplash with an easy trick that won’t cost much money. Consider painting the backsplash tiles with a geometric pattern to create a touch of formality that will increase the aesthetics of boring kitchens that are lacking detail.

Apply a coat of shellac-based primer after using painter’s tape to create a fun pattern that is one-of-a-kind. Allow the primer to dry for an hour before applying a coat of paint in thin layers before adding the second coat. Allow the paint to dry for at least four hours. A final coat of oil-based polyurethane should be applied on top of the work of art to protect it from scuffs or moisture.

2. Add Hooks in the Entryway

The entryway is prone to become cluttered and disorganized due to shoes and bags that are left by the front door once your family members arrive home each day. One easy DIY project you can do is to create a clean and appealing setting by adding wooden doorknobs on the walls. Drill small holes in the walls and screw hanger bolts into each knob where you can hang items and make them easier to access. Backpacks, purses, and raincoats can all be mounted instead of left in a pile on the floor. Consider painting the doorknobs and color shade that matches the surrounding decor.

3. Wallpaper the Stairs

Draw more attention to the set of stairs in your home by wallpapering the steps to create a beautiful feature. Wallpapering the stairs makes it easy to personalize your home and make it stand out. You can choose a wallpaper print that is bold to make it easy to spot the design and allow it to work as the focal point in the room. You can even make it match by wallpapering the ceiling to create an unexpected feature that allows the home to look professionally designed. Decals can also be used if you want a design that is less permanent and is easy to change as your style evolves in the future.

4. Add New Doors

Increase the privacy of your interior setting and allow it to look beautiful with the doors that are installed with glass doors that are installed. Interior glass doors can be used to provide unobstructed views to specific rooms or the backyard. The doors are often heavier than typical doors and can block more noise, which can create a more peaceful and quiet setting. You can also cut glass panels into wooden frames if you want to create a beautiful front door that makes a statement to your guests.

5. Create a Votive Chandelier

You can create a romantic setting with a votive chandelier that will make for the perfect addition to your dining room or kitchen. Suspend multiple votives with mini tea light lanterns at different heights to create added dimension. You can hang the items with clear fishing line, which will change the ambiance of the home’s environment and allow the chandelier to look like it’s floating. If you want to create a stained-glass version of the chandelier, apply a layer of tissue paper, which will make the votives glow when they’re illuminated.
