5 Healthy Grab and Go Keto Snacks

5 Healthy Grab and Go Keto Snacks

Let’s face it. We’re all busy folks going here and there and doing this and that. It doesn’t matter how disciplined you are when it comes to your diet, we all get hunger pangs and want to reach for a snack. The wonderful thing about the keto diet is the incredible choice of yummy treats you can indulge in. You can reward yourself with something savory or something sweet that tastes so good, you’ll swear you’re cheating. Here are some of our expert nutritionists’ favorite, grab-and-go keto-friendly snacks:

Olives

The best kinds of snacks are the ones you can carry around wherever you go that don’t make a mess or require preparation before eating them.
Take, for example, olives. These are an excellent snack option that gets the keto thumbs up. You can easily pack them in a small container or plastic bag.
Olives are not only a filling and salty treat, but they are packed with oleic acid for lowering cholesterol and keeping your heart pumping in a healthy way. Olives are also naturally high in vitamin E and antioxidants.
Try olives in green and black varieties.

Meat Sticks

If you’re obsessed with Slim Jims or classic meat sticks you find at the grocery store, you’re in luck. The keto diet says you can go ahead and snap open a chewy, high protein/fat meat stick.
Just don’t get carried away because these bad boys contain sodium, but if you’re on the road and craving a keto-friendly treat, then a Slim Jim is convenient and low in carbs and a good energetic snack.
Also, check out convenience stores for low or no-carb beef jerky, another fantastic keto snack option.
If out of luck, pick up some pre-packaged pepperoni slices for a solid dose of protein.

Sweet Treat

Sometimes, you just want that sweet snack that touches the spot and keeps you going all day. Keto protein bars are portable, perfect to take to the airport, in your gym bag, in your car or handbag.
With a keto bar, you don’t have to guess at the proportion size you can have and if you’re getting the right ingredients. Not every protein snack out there is a healthy one, but keto makes it clean and keeps your blood sugar in check.
Look for those with grass-fed whey protein and ingredients like organic pea protein, organic chocolate chips, organic cocoa butter, etc.

Raw Nuts

When you’re longing for that awesome crunch and texture, you can’t beat raw nuts as a grab-and-go keto-friendly snack. A handful of salty snacks like these are easy to tote around and save for that craving that will kick in sooner or later.
You have lots of yummy choices here, and you’re getting a filling treat that’s high in good fat, fun, and provides that good keto fuel you’re looking for. Some nuts to try are almonds. These are keto-amazing because they contain zero cholesterol and are rich in fiber and low in saturated fats. Other keto raw nuts to include are macadamia nuts, walnuts, pecans, cashews, pistachios, Brazil nuts, hazelnuts, and pine nuts. Nutritionists recommend pecans, Brazil nuts, and macadamia nuts because they all offer the lowest amount of carbs per serving. So these three can be enjoyed freely on a keto diet.

Kale Chips

Potato chips are addictive and you can never eat just one, but they don’t come with exactly the best nutritional profile, right?
That’s why kale chips are a very good snack you can pack into your gym bag or backpack and head out the door. Kale chips are the ideal, low-carb, crispy alternative to fattening potato chips. You can even make your own kale chips, but if you’re pressed for time, you can pick up a bag at your local grocery store. Once you bite into them, you’ll know why kale chips have become a very popular keto-friendly treat. Kale chips are packed with vitamins A and C and with calcium, iron, fiber, and protein.
We all need the perfect grab-and-go snacks while on the keto diet plan. Stay on it, eat clean, and try our favorites when the cravings hit.
