Beyond the Smoking: Which 5 Cannabis Products Are Gaining in Popularity?

As the laws surrounding the use of cannabis become more relaxed, CBD oil products have begun filling the shelves. But it isn’t smoking cannabis that is attracting consumers from suburbs.

A plethora of cannabis products is now available, with manufacturers constantly on the lookout for new and novel ways to allow THC and CBD into the body. Dispensaries across the country, are now selling a variety of cannabis-infused products, and they are flying off the shelves.

Here are the top 5 cannabis products that are gaining in popularity around the US.

CBD Oil:

Cannabidiol (CBD oil) is becoming the go-to cannabis product because of its versatility. It can be inhaled in a vape, dropped under the tongue, or put inside a capsule for swallowing.

CBD has received federal approval for treating epilepsy, but it is also useful for patients suffering from anxiety, depression, cancer, and insomnia, amongst other issues.

Cannabis-Infused Candy Kits:

Kits that allow users to make their own edibles are becoming increasingly popular. Not only is candy a novel way to enjoy your edibles, but it also provides more control. It allows you to decide if you want an edible higher in THC or CBD, giving you more control over your edible experience.

If eating your edibles via raspberry, mango, or cherry-flavored gummies sounds like something you would enjoy, you might want to try a starter kit.

Gum:

Used to treat chronic pain, cannabis-infused gum is a convenient and effective way to get your THC. Each pack comes with 6 pieces of gum, each with 25mg of THC. The pain relief kicks in within 15 minutes and should last around four hours.

Currently, there are a couple of varieties on the market, one with a higher THC dose, and one with a higher CBD dose that gives all the benefits, without the high.

Skin Care Products:

CBD beauty and skincare products are rapidly increasing in popularity. The suburban woman doesn’t seem like the obvious cannabis user, but thanks to an ever-increasing skincare range, many women (and men) who may not have tried cannabis products before are dipping their toes in the cannabis-infused water.

As well as the aforementioned pain relief and treatment benefits of CBD, cannabis skincare products also have anti-inflammatory properties. Cannabinoid receptors in the skin respond to CBD skincare products, which research suggests could combat acne and help keep your skin hydrated.

Cannabis Drinks:

Most people wouldn’t think to get their THC through a relaxing beverage. But nowadays, that is where we are. Cannabis drinks are getting more exposure, even being featured on Gwyneth Paltrow’s blog, Goop.

The availability of cannabis-infused beverages is still not widespread. Currently, only states which have fully legalized cannabis can sell them, but in the not too distant future we are likely to see cannabis-infused coffee shops (there are already outlets selling them in New York), and even cannabis-infused beer (yes! it’s a thing people are working on).

The future is green. As states continue to decriminalize, the market for cannabis products will only continue to expand. The health benefits of CBD are only beginning to be discovered, and the market is still in a fledgling stage. All we are waiting for is the legislation to keep up with demand.
