Give Your Ear an Educational Treat While You Commute: 5 Handpicked Podcasts for Devoted Fashionistas

Podcasting is catching fire in the USA. According to Statista, every 5 Americans out of 10 have listened to a podcast. The Fashion industry is ready to ride the bandwagon too with full swing. Industry bigwigs like Chanel, Gucci have already committed themselves to the podcasts in an attempt to show a sneak-peak to their brand enthusiasts.

Imagine this. On average, Americans spent 200 hours per year on commute. Assume that, as fashionista yourself, you spent that time learning a thing or two about fashion through podcasts.

What will be the result after say 1,3 or 5 years? You will become a fashion expert so much so that you can deliver an hour-long monologue about the latest trends on Youtube.

Sounds Interesting?
If yes, I have listed down some of those podcasts that you should get your hands on immediately.
Here are they.

1. The Business of Fashion
From talking about e-commerce, and entrepreneurship to plastic pollution, the podcast does a complete justice to its name – covering the business side of the fashion. Imran Ahmed, the man behind the brand, is a business advisor, and a writer himself, host the shows to produce valuable discussions.

Apart from the business discussion, you will find a high quality “Indian” perspective about fashion, partly because Imran is of Indian descent. On June 1st show, Imran sat down with Indian Bridal Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee and actress Deepika Padukone to discuss India’s $50 billion bridal market.

This is a must-listen for people interested in business aspects of the fashion industry as it features in-depth interviews from industry experts. They have covered a wide variety of shows. But as a fashion enthusiast myself, I am still looking for topics such as logo digitizing, apparel decoration, and other hardcore design topics.

The downside: They do not post often. The last show was uploaded a year ago in December 2018. But that is ok. Good things take time to materialize.
