How To Stay Motivated/Energized At Work

 

Starting a new job is one of the most exciting things in many people’s lives and careers. This alone can make one work throughout the day without feeling the need to take a break. Sadly though, such drives start to die off a few months or years into the same job. Many people will no longer feel like going to work, and will often drag themselves when tasked with an assignment. Some will reportedly start the day feeling fatigued and with no energy to push through the day as they did on their first day. If no amount of caffeine seems to keep you motivated and energized, maybe it is time you reviewed your lifestyle and daily routines. Making a few changes to your lifestyle and routine can, however, help restore the drive, making it possible to hit your targets with ease.

  1. Take On Early Morning Workouts

Eating right can have a significant impact on your overall health and performance at work. That said, you need to give up those tasty fries and burgers for healthy meals instead. Fresh salads with quinoa, chia seeds, and fresh fruits are some of the best foods/snacks you can have while in the office.  In addition to quitting fast foods, you also need to keep an eye on how much you eat per sitting. Health experts advise against having too much to eat per sitting, and especially during lunchtime.  Going for foods rich in dietary fiber, natural sugars, and high-quality proteins should also help you sleep well at night. A good night’s sleep means you will wake up rested.

 

  1. Take A Break Between Tasks

There are times when you’ll be forced to stay at your workstation for hours without a break.  As much as you want to hit that deadline, not taking a break will only take a toll on your energy levels, affecting your performance over time. Working on the computer for hours is also not good for your eye health. That said, make it a habit of taking a 15-minute break after every 90 minutes. Your body will take advantage of the ‘free’ time to restore energy levels, hence improved productivity. You could take a walk in the park or streets during the tea or lunch breaks too.

 

Changing your career in an effort to treat job burnout isn’t always the best idea. Your body/brain may only be experiencing the slow down due to a lack of rest or sleep.
