Improving Your Business and Life Overnight

A business should always be growing and gaining more customers. A stagnant business will find itself failing. When a company doesn’t move and grow, it starts to struggle. That is a huge reason why 80% of businesses fail within the first 10 years. If you’re a business owner, then you should be looking for ways to do more with what you have. Sometimes, all it takes to improve your business is an aesthetic change to make it more consumer-friendly. Other times, bigger changes are needed, but most major changes can take place overnight.

  1. Make Feedback Options Available to the Customers

One of the best things that you can do for your business is to make feedback options available. Most people want to be able to give their opinions on their experiences. If you make that option available to them, then you will get feedback that may change how you run your business. As a business owner, you need to realize that the cliche saying “the customer is always right” is a true concept. The customer has both their own best interest in mind and yours. If you make a change to how your business is run that benefits the customer’s experience, then you’re improving how well people will like your business which will translate into more customers. If the customer likes how they were treated, then they will tell their friends and give you referrals that will expand your business.

  1. Make Your Employees Aware of the Importance of Customer Satisfaction

A happy customer means a happy business. Customers remember how they were treated at a business and they remember it. If the employees were rude or obnoxious, the person is likely not to come back. They want to feel heard, understood and respected. The best way that you can make that happen is by teaching your employees how to do it. Have them go through customer service training or corporate sales training to teach them what they can do to communicate in a better way. Your employees need to know how to express thoughts and frustrations without upsetting the customers. They need to know the fine details of communication and how to read body language that would help them to diffuse any tensions in a situation.

  1. Declutter the Offices

Often offices will start to gather clutter. The longer someone has been working there, the more stuff build up. The office acts as a makeshift home. People are comfortable in their offices, and they should feel safe. If they feel safe, they will be more effective employees. What you also need to keep in mind is that, like a home, if it is cluttered, productivity slows down. You should make sure that all of your employees are able to make their workplace feel comfortable but also make sure that it’s mandatory to keep it clean. You can even set aside time once a month to have your employees clean up their personal workplace.

  1. Rearrange the Business to Make It Customer-Friendly

Customers gravitate towards things that are new but also familiar. No one wants to learn how to act in an unfamiliar situation or learn to work in an uncomfortable setting. Customers want to see something familiar when they step into a business. They want to feel settled and like they know what to do and where to go without asking someone for help. Your business should be intuitive and easy to tell what the next step is. If you need to, walk into your own business like it is the first time. Make sure that it’s easy to tell what you should do. If you have a front desk, it should be there first thing that the person sees so they can feel comfortable walking up to it. The colors and decorations should also be friendly and non-threatening.

Make the changes that you need to make to your business to ensure that customers are receiving the care and help that they need. If you do, you’ll find that your business is expanding faster than you would have thought.
