Look More Fashionable as a Mom with These Three Changes

Motherhood is whirlwind of an experience. As the body prepares to give birth to a new life, it goes through so many different changes. Between the influx of raging hormones and the swollen feet, most women don’t know what to do with themselves. By the time the baby comes, a mother tends to wonder if she’ll ever get back to feeling normal again. The most important thing to remember is that it’s okay to have a new normal. Your body has experienced a new miracle and will continue to show you how resilient it is. Your job is to appreciate your body and always show love to it. It’s been through a lot and you never want to perpetuate a cycle of negative self-talk. One of the ways you can show yourself love is by the way you dress. When you look good, there’s a bigger chance that you’ll feel good too. So, if you need a little help, consider these items that’ll help you look more fashionable as a mother.

  1. Hats (Boleros, Baseball Caps, etc.)

A bolero is one of the trendier hats that many women are wearing nowadays. If you haven’t gotten around to washing your hair and your roots are a disaster, a bolero will easily cover up any issues. Fedoras look just as beautiful as well. Purchase a few baseball caps with cute word graphics, glitter or patterns. You can switch the hats out and wear the one that matches your outfit for the day.

  1. Makeup

Makeup is essential because as a new mother, there are a lot of sleepless nights. For the nights when you don’t get a lot of sleep and you have dark under-eye circles, concealer is perfect. Lightly dab a little bit underneath each eye. Use your fingers to apply lightly. The skin is very delicate in this area. Once you dab it on the skin, use a beauty blender to blend the concealer in with your skin. A bold lip color will brighten up your face and add a lot of flair. You can choose to switch it up from day to day. You can also choose a classic staple color like a rich red color or a hot pink shade. Some mascara is great for opening and volumizing the eyelashes. If you’ve been missing out on some extra sun, add a bit of bronzer, highlight or blush to add some more color and depth to your face. This entire process doesn’t need to take a long time in the morning. Set aside ten minutes for it. As you continue to get better at it, you’ll whittle the time down to five minutes.

  1. Bags

One accessory that most women love is a really good bag. Between clutches, satchels and hobo-style bags, a woman looks forward to enjoying her purse. However, as a mother, you have to consider the little one now. Thankfully, the days of ugly diaper bags are long gone. Many high-end designers are producing high-fashion diaper bags that really look like regular purses. If you don’t have high-end money, that’s okay. Many major retailers have affordable options as well. One of the smartest options is the bag that allows you to be hands-free. A stylish backpack diaper bag is really awesome because you can hold the baby and if you ever need anything, you can access the bag on your back. Since you’re carrying the bag on your back, you can focus all of your attention on the baby and whatever else is in front of you. It’s also nice to keep a stash of all the necessities in each diaper bag. This way, you won’t have to switch bags every time you leave the house.

Feel free to mix and match these items in your wardrobe. As you get the hang of what looks and feels right, try to buy more of those items. That way, you’ll be able to think less about what you have to wear. You’ll have a few options to consider and you’ll be able to look effortlessly fly.
