Parents: You Don’t Need to Worry About These Things

parents-worryMoms, there are so many things that you can worry about. You have to worry about the online classes that you will take to continue your education, or your job, and then your children! There are things that you don’t want your kids to see, and there are things you don’t want them to say. You have to worry about predators online, the food that your children eat, the sports that they play. It’s enough for any mom to go crazy! However, there are some things that you don’t have to worry about. It’s true, there are things that you stay carefree with your children. You might think I’m lying, but I’m not! Keep reading to find out when can you remain unstressed about your kids –

  • It’s OK if they aren’t hungry. You’ve always heard from your mom and dad that you should always clean your plate. But, if your child is healthy and isn’t underweight, it is actually better that they are learning to self-regulate what they eat! Instead of overindulging, your children will learn how much will satisfy them. This can help when your children get older. They won’t have a problem of overeating.
  • Don’t stress about play-dates. Many parents feel that they have to set their children up on play-dates. But, think back when you were a kid. Did your parents make you have play-dates? Probably not. Look how your turned out! Don’t feel like you have to constantly be regulating your child’s social life. Chances are they won’t even remember who they played with when they were younger!
  • First report card. Don’t freak out if your children don’t do well on their first report cards. Often, report cards are filled out quickly, and many teachers don’t have a lot of information about each student. If their grades are not that great, ask the teacher what you can do to improve them. Don’t make a huge deal about it, but start working with your children to make them better.
  • Let your kids get dirty. Getting dirty is a part of life. Isn’t that why bath time was invented? It’s actually been shown that kids are getting sicker because they aren’t being exposed to as many germs as we did when we were growing up. When they are exposed to germs, they get sick because their bodies aren’t used to foreign germs. Let them get dirty sometimes―it’s good for them.
