And for professional workers, the worst nightmare is the stain that refuses to leave weeks after the festival. We know it is not fair for you or for anyone with a vibrant personality but a sensitive skin type to make the compromise and stay back home, away from the frivolous spirit of the occasion. So we thought of coming up with some pre-eminent tips which will make you shine brightly after the big, messy festival. Skincare

Skin is undoubtedly the most affected and sensitive part of your body. Toxic holi colors may cause very serious damage to your skin leaving it excessively dry and dull. What most of us fail to understand is that when it comes to color fights, prevention is always better than cure. It is the pre-Holi care that protects your skin from blemishes. Preparing an ointment for precaution is simpler than you think it is! All you need is a coconut oil, olive oil and castor oil 1 tablespoon each and mix them all together in a container. Apply It all over your body, including the tips of your nails and elbows to create a protective barrier from all that harmful chemicals. Once you come back and rinse off the colors you can notice the colors coming off easily because of the oily base underneath which has not only prevented direct contact of the skin to the colors but have also acted as a lubricant so the colors do not stick.

Hair care

The most difficult part about post-holi care is untangling the hair and getting rid of the hidden colors which got tangled along the way. Sometimes the only option you are left with is to chop it all off! To save you that trauma here is a little tip: add few drops of rosemary oil to one tablespoon of olive or coconut oil. Massage your hair gently before going out for the play. If your hair is greasy it will be easier to untangle it and the extract of jojoba oil will keep it smooth and shiny. It is recommendable to cover your hair with a scarf during the fight or tie it up tightly into a bun or a ponytail.  This will prevent intense damage. Make sure to condition your hair properly after a thorough wash with shampoo.

Nail care

This might be a time when nail paint will come to the ultimate rescue. Your nails are the most attacked and ruined part while color playing. The color accumulation inside your nails will adversely affect your health. It is ideal to trim your nails before entering the playground. Make sure you apply two or more coats of nail paints to protect the cuticles and the skin around them. After the play, your nails may look gross, but all you need to do is remove the stain with a nail-polish remover and you are all good to go!

Some precautionary measures for your body in this festive season include:

  1. Using organic colors
  2. Wear full sleeves and make it a trend
  3. Use proper sunscreen

Carry a clean handkerchief to wipe out excess color.
