The circumstances surrounding a baby always have the possibility of becoming very complicated, especially in today’s day and age. Often the biggest reasons people terminate pregnancy has to do with life situations. Life is complicated, and babies definitely add another layer of complexity to that equation. Not only do babies add life changes, they also imply serious emotional, physical and hormonal changes. It’s not easy.
However, just because having a baby might not fit into your lifestyle, or would put a serious damper on things during this phase of your life, there are reasons adoption might be the best choice for you.
There Are Always People Who Want What You Have
This can be said in the most positive way possible. If you’re at a point in life where you’ve found yourself pregnant and you don’t know what to do, before aborting, think about all the people out there that would love this child like their own. There are countless people out in the world who have unfortunate circumstances that won’t allow them to have their own children.
Think about how your present situation could be the biggest blessing to somebody else. Sure you’ll have to go through some minor inconveniences, i.e., your body changing and all that entails, as well as the giving birth part. But isn’t your temporary discomfort worth a lifetime of happiness for a couple who can’t have their own children?
In addition to this-later in life when you decide you want to meet your child, that’s always a possibility. If you were to abort-you’d still have to go through recovery, both physically and emotionally, and you’d never have to opportunity to meet your child if they’re dead.
It’s Less Costly
It’s different to be for abortion when you’ve never had one. Even people who have had abortions would choose to have one again. But the reality of the matter is that abortion is not scot free. Not only is the procedure very expensive, there are serious repercussions for you long term both physically and emotionally.
Sometimes women who have had abortions aren’t able to get pregnant again when they want to. It’s also known that depression and Post Abortion Stress Syndrome are common side effects of abortion.
Both abortion and adoption aren’t easy choices to make, but adoption allows the mother of the child to still be a part of her child’s life and she won’t be faced with the same regret for giving her child up for adoption as she would for abortion.
In the end it’s completely up to you to make the choice between abortion or adoption, but it’s always good to be thoroughly educated on both aspects. Read up stories and arguments for both sides of the matter. Just because you believe something to be true doesn’t mean it is. This is not a small decision, but it’s very important that you make the decision you won’t regret in the long run. The decision affects more than just you.
