  • Check the USB port physically: This is the first and foremost step to be considered when you find that the device is not working after inserting into the USB port. The port is delicately manufactured and should be appropriately used. Any mishandling will damage the chips and the devices inserted in that particular port will not work correctly.
  • Loose connections: In case any device is not working, first check the computer and the device ports properly. If everything is fine, then check if there are any loose connections either on the computer or the peripheral device. Remove the USBcable and re-fix it. Now restart the computer and check whether everything is fine.
  • Change the USB port: In spite of doing all remedies, if the port is not working correctly, then it is the time to change the USB port. Choose a right USB port suitable for your system and install it properly.
  • Disable old device drivers: Normally a computer will be in a position to recognize the USB device and required drivers are automatically installed when the device is in use for the first time. The first and foremost thing to be done is to uninstall the old device drivers. Then restart the installation program of the new device again. If old device drivers are not removed or uninstalled, it may create a problem in the operation of a new device and ultimately will not work correctly. In such a case, the benefit of the doubt will be on the USB port and not on the device. So a device is also equally responsible for not working.
