Everybody knows that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but oftentimes the morning rush is not conducive for cooking. Regardless, it is crucial to make sure you are fueling your body bright and early. Here are five quick breakfast ideas for those busy, crazy mornings to make sure you are still getting the nutrients you need.
Avocado Toast
Is it no secret that this is a fan favorite among millennials, but it is also packed with all of the nutrients you need to start your day off right. Cutting up your avocado and preparing your toast should take no more than just a few minutes, and you can enjoy it while on the go! Spice up your meal by adding some seasonings, such as everything but the bagel, or a sauce or two such as hot sauce or a nice balsamic vinaigrette. You can add some extra protein to this meal by cooking up an egg to put on top as well. This is an easy dish you can get creative with.
But first, Coffee!
No matter what you have on your plate, a fresh cup of coffee in the morning can give you the energy and zest you need to make it through your day with a positive attitude. Sometimes brewing a whole pot of coffee can be time consuming, so why not cut a few minutes off of your morning routine by using K-Cups or other instant coffee options? You’ll have a drink ready to go in under two minutes.
Protein Shake
Protein will keep you feeling full and satisfied all the way until lunch, so it’s a great idea to add a protein shake to your morning! Blend up a banana, milk of your choice, protein powder, and any other fruits or veggies you want. You can get creative with your protein powder flavors, and you can fuel your body while sipping on what tastes like a milkshake. This is a great option for those who don’t get enough protein in their diets, specifically people who are plant-based, vegetarian, or vegan.
Egg Scramble
If you can set aside about ten minutes for breakfast, a veggie-filled egg scramble is a great option. Adding things like spinach, tomato, carrots, sweet potatoes, and more to your eggs in the morning can give you a protein and nutrient-packed start to your day. While this option is more on the time consuming side, it is a great idea to keep tucked in your back pocket when you have an extra minute or two to spare.
Oatmeal
Oatmeal is a classic go-to breakfast for many. You can add whatever toppings you like. You can bulk it up with some protein powder, nut butter, or seeds. Add seasonal fruit to change up the flavor. This is a breakfast that won’t ever be boring.
Most people find themselves rushing to get ready in the morning before heading to school or work. This shouldn’t keep you from having breakfast though. Choose one of the above suggestions for a quick meal.
