Send Summer off Right With These Party Ideas

Summer is filled with a lot of opportunities for fun and relaxation. From spending time with your family to going on vacations, it’s easy to feel like the season just flew by before you really had a chance to do anything. That’s why everyone is always sad to see the summer disappear into fall and realize that there were so many things left to do. That being said, it’s also the perfect time to throw one last summer party and make it one to remember. With Labor Day fast approaching, this is the time to throw one of those parties. And whether these parties are family friendly or just you getting together with a few friends, remember it’s all about sending summer off the right way.

Barbecue

Barbecues are a tried and true testament to the summer party. They can be made up of one grill surrounded by a group of friends or a large event with multiple families and attendees of all ages. They’re also a fairly versatile type of party, as you can make all the food yourself or have people bring their own to make it more like a potluck. And you don’t have to be limited by your experience or the traditional hamburgers and hotdogs, either. A barbecued pig is really easy for a novice, as it basically cooks itself and gives off a lot of fat. You just have to keep an eye on it to make sure you don’t overcook it. And there are a lot of other recipes you could try like ribs, salmon, or other meats if you feel more comfortable with your skill level.

These parties are a great time to have small games set up around the area to keep any kids in attendance from getting bored. This might include horseshoes, cornhole, or just giving them a few soccer balls to work with as they see fit. Older adults may even get into some friendly competition with these games, just make sure they’re set up away from the actual cooking and food or you could have a mess on your hands later.

Pool Party

Pool parties are another staple for summer celebrations and are welcome for all ages. It’s easy enough to make a reservation at a local pool for this, but if you or someone you know has one in their backyard it’s usually more fun to have it there. It might be too late to get one this season, but you might consider one if you enjoy hosting your own parties. The pool cost definitely pays for itself during the spring and summer with all of the fun in the sun you can have. And pool parties are definitely the favorite celebration for kids and teens so it’s automatically family friendly.

Believe it or not, you can have an adults-only pool party if you feel so inclined. It might not seem like it’s possible, but it is. Imagine a party filled your friends at a pool without having to worry about kids running and hurting themselves or cannonballing all over the place. You can drink whatever you want to and just have a good time with your friends lounging in a pool. You could also find some inflatable things like rock walls to make things more interesting, but you definitely don’t have to. If you just want a relaxing pool party without having to worry about kids, it’s entirely possible.

Movie Screening

Movie screenings might not seem like the typical party compared to the other two, but that’s exactly why you should consider it. It’s fairly easy to set up, regardless of what size it is. If you want a large outdoor party, the hardest thing you’ll need to do is set up your computer or a projector to play the movie. And there are lots of online guides if you’re unsure how exactly to do that. Other than that, it’s very easy to set up, with a lot of lawn chairs or towels out on your lawn and a sheet to project the movie on. It’s really easy to make this screening a box office success.

You can use this on a smaller scale too. Just pull up a bench and a few chairs and arrange them around your actual laptop to watch it outside. This way you get the enjoyment of being outside during a summer night and enjoying a movie with your friends. You can also get some snacks and popcorn to make the mood seem authentic, but it doesn’t take a lot to put this party together. It’s just an excuse to get together and enjoy a movie together with your friends.
