If you want to have a hen night you’ll never forget, you need to liaise with your maid of honour. As the bride, you’re not allowed to plan your own night. You can however, chat with the maid of honour to make sure she gets everything spot on. Just don’t try to be too controlling – the idea is to let loose and have a good time!
Be Flexible
Try to be a little flexible when it comes to your hen night. You probably have an idea in your head of what you want the night to go like, or what you think it’s going to go like. However, the more detached you can stay from what you think will happen, the better time you’ll have. Just go with the flow and good things will happen!
Mention a Few Things You Might Like
If you’re worried that you friend will take you for tea rather than get you a hunky stripper, don’t be afraid to mention a few things you might like. The key here is to remain flexible. If you tell her exactly what you want, you may as well have planned this whole night yourself! Simply describe the kind of night you want, whether you want it to be filled with hunky men and cocktails or just a laugh over cakes with your good friends. There’s nothing wrong with giving your friends a few hens night ideas for inspiration.
Make it Clear Who You Want There
You should make it pretty clear who you want there. Your maid of honour may well already know who your closest friends and family members are, and that’s great. If you’re worried somebody might be forgotten, make sure you mention it.
Don’t Drink Too Much
Drinking too much can be difficult on your hen night, especially when you’re probably being plied with drinks and alcohol. However, if you want this night to be a night you’ll never forget, you can’t drink so much that you black out and forget it. Pay attention to when you feel tipsy and slow down your drinking. Better yet, take it in turns to have a non alcoholic beverage and an alcoholic beverage. There’s nothing worse than getting so drunk you don’t remember the day/night. Worse yet, you could be sick, hurt yourself, or fall asleep somewhere.
Make Sure You’re Comfortable
If you’re not comfortable on your hen night, you won’t want to stay out and enjoy the festivities for very long. Make sure you can walk in your shoes and that you’re unlikely to run into any wardrobe malfunctions.
Live in the Now
Don’t worry about the wedding, or what your hen party has in store for you. Live in the now! Too many people keep their minds on the future and miss the fun going on in the present. You probably have a lot on your mind, but make a conscious effort to concentrate on what is going on right now.
Relax and you’ll have an amazing time!
