Located in the North-West, Bramhall is a suburb of the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport, and historically a part of Cheshire. With around 25,500 inhabitants, whilst Bramhall is technically a village, it is definitely a thriving, bustling community with a great variety of amenities and good transport links.

Housing

Bramhall is an affluent area with a diverse selection of properties. There are four main housing estates which were all built during the sixties and early seventies.  The Parkside and New House Farm estates are located to the North of Bramhall, The Dairyground Estate, which is the largest is in central Bramhall and the “Little Australia” estate is in the south of Bramhall. Towards the outskirts of Bramhall, in all directions, there are a good number of older properties some of which are rather more substantial in size. There is a small area of ex-council housing near to the centre of Bramhall. This work will add new road that stretches from the A6 near Hazel Grove via the 4km of existing A555 to Manchester Airport and the link road to the M56, making it even more accessible.

Bramhall also has good bus routes in all directions and a railway station which is on the main line from Manchester to London, via Macclesfield and Stoke-on-Trent.

Schools

Bramhall has a number of well-placed primary schools, some of which have their own pre-schools, and also several independent nurseries. Bramhall is also home to Valley School, which incorporates a nursery and is a well-established school that caters for children who have complex and severe special educational needs, including autism spectrum disorder.Bramhall High School, which is located on the Dairyground Estate, is the local high school where pupils can study up to GCSE level.

Amenities

The centre of Bramhall itself is a diverse array of small independent shops offering everything from Jewellery to fruit, bakeries to clothing boutiques. There are also a couple of small supermarkets, although the large Tesco at Handforth Dean is easily accessible from Bramhall as is an equally large Sainsbury’s at Cheadle Royal.

Perhaps the most abundant amenity in the centre of the village is the fantastic and diverse selection of eateries; restaurants – both chain and independent, coffee shops, bistros and sandwich shops offering deli style food. And it isn’t just the diversity of the establishments themselves, but also the cuisine that are available as well from Italian to Thai and everything in between.

For those people who are keen on sports Bramhall has not one, but two golf courses, three tennis courts, and a recreation. The nearest swimming pool is located just a short drive away in Hazel Grove.

There are plenty of places of interest within easy driving distance of Bramhall. The most local of these is Bramhall Hall, a fine example of a 14th century Cheshire building, which underwent an extensive program of restoration work in 2016 and is situated in 28 hectares of stunning parkland.
