Avocado – Banana Shake

Ingredients:
1 small avocado, ripe, pitted and cut into chunks
1 small banana, split into chunks
1 cup chopped pineapple (canned is fine)
1 ½ cups milk
1 tbsp honey
¼ tsp nutmeg
3 tbsp lime juice
½ tsp vanilla
Directions:
Put avocado and fruit in a blender and puree until smooth. Add remaining ingredients and puree. Serve with a slice of fresh avocado.
Piña Colada Shake with Protein
Serves: 1
Ingredients:
2 scoops vanilla protein powder (casein protein powder is great)
4 oz pineapple juice, no sugar added
2 oz water
5 drops coconut flavoring
1 cup frozen pineapple
2 oz. light coconut milk
Directions:
Blend all ingredients. Thin with additional water if the shake is too thick.
Green Almond Milk Shake
Serves: 1
Ingredients:
½ cup vanilla Greek yogurt
½ avocado, peeled and chopped
2 peeled and chopped kiwi fruit
½ cup almond milk
1 handful baby spinach
Directions:
Add liquid ingredients first and mix until combined. Add yogurt, avocado, and kiwi, then blend. Add baby spinach and puree until smooth.
Lemonade-Cranberry Shake
Serves: 1
Ingredients:
1 cup cran-lemonade juice
5 oz lemon light Greek yogurt
1 medium banana, peeled
6 strawberries, hulled and halved
Directions:
Blend liquid ingredients and yogurt then add fruit. Puree until frothy and enjoy.
Creamsicle Shake
Serves: 2
Ingredients:
1 cup low-fat plain yogurt
1 banana, peeled
2 oranges, peeled and seeds removed, or ½ cup orange juice (using a whole orange boosts the fiber)
1 cup skim milk
Directions:
Blend ingredients until the mixture is smooth. Serve with orange wedges.
Banana Pudding Milkshake
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
4 ripe bananas, 2 sliced to puree and 2 cut into long wedges
½ cup whole milk
1 cup whipped cream
2 pints vanilla ice cream
4 tbsp crushed vanilla wafer cookies
Directions:
Soften vanilla ice cream. Process with bananas in a blender. Add whole milk. Garnish with whipped cream, sliced bananas, and crushed vanilla wafers.
Pretzel Salted Caramel Shake
Serves: 1
1 handful crushed pretzels plus 1 whole pretzel for garnish
Caramel sauce
3 scoops vanilla ice cream
Splash of milk
Directions:
Blend ice cream and crushed pretzels. Add caramel sauce to the inside of the milkshake glass and pour in ice cream mixture. Add a pretzel to the top for garnish.
Frozen Yogurt Strawberry Shake
Serves: 2
Ingredients:
1 cup vanilla frozen yogurt
1 cup fresh strawberries (sliced)
1 cup frozen whole strawberries
½ cup milk
½ cup strawberry nonfat yogurt
Directions:
Blend all ingredients. Add more milk if necessary. Divide between two shake glasses.
Dairy-Free Vegan Pineapple Shake
Serves: 2
Ingredients:
¾ cup pineapple juice
½ cup orange juice concentrate
¼ tsp vanilla
½ cup cashew, almond or coconut milk
3 cups crushed ice
Puree juices with ice. Add milk and vanilla and process until smooth but still slushy.
