Using UR Commercial Robots to Make Work Easier

With the 2018 Olympics in south Korea almost here, we are likely to see several commercial robots trending. The Olympics come with so much hype and a lot of activities. They attract people from all walks of life and it is also a time when technology companies showcase their latest trends.

Commercial robots are mostly used in hotels, airports, hospitals and supermarkets. They are the extra hands that help where humans cannot or where the work is too much. One of the leading companies that supplies commercial robots to many places all over the world is Universal Robots.

Universal Robots apply the latest technology to all the robotics making them safe, fast, reliable and collaborative. Very recently an UR robotic arm made by Universal Robots featured in a commercial in Singapore. The UR10, UR5 and the UR3 are some of the commonly used commercial robots.

Universal robots UR Series

The UR10, is mostly used for heavier duties. It is fast and easy to work with. For lifting cargos in places like airports and supermakets, the UR10 comes in handy. Its variable settings allow it to carry objects that would require many humans or big machines to carry it.

For medium sized weights, the UR5 is what does the job best. With a payload of 5kg, this robot can lift heavier loads provided it ca supermakets, the UR10 comes in handy. Its variable settings allow it to n reach them. Some of the best commercial jobs that the UR5 can carry out are assembling of lighter material, packing, dispensing, loading, offloading, machine tending and other lighter duties. It is a smaller version of UR10 and works well alongside humans.

The smallest robot in the UR family is the UR3. This robot is best for some specific applications in a work place. It has a 3kg payload and can work better with a gripper. UR3 is best in light assembly industries and electronics industries. It has an infinite wrist rotation which makes it very easy to use.

How UR Commercial Robots are Changing the Face of Businesses

While the heavy industries have used robots for years, it is only in the recent years that commercial robots are taking over the running of some affairs.  In the next couple of years, these robots will account for majority of the total robot sales all over the world. Major hotels are already using robots to prepare meals and deliver room services to their guests.

Supermarkets are using robots to push the shopping trolleys and assist retailers to pack and load their shopping into their cars. Some banks are today using commercial robots to assist their customers and look out for the elderly and disabled persons who may have a problem filling out whatever is required of them.

In industries, the smaller commercial robots are used for tasks like metal fabrication, testing, packaging, loading and unloading of items. They are swifter and faster than humans which makes them an integral part in the growth of any business.

Other advantages of commercial robots

  • Faster

They are faster than the humans because they can perform tasks which would otherwise take several people to finish. They can also work for 24/7 without taking a break.

  • Better quality

Humans are prone to making errors. The same is not the same with robots. Robots are almost perfect, and they are programmed to make error free judgments and produce excellent results.

  • Safer

Almost every working environment has health risks for the humans. If it is in a health centre, there is the fear of hazardous radiation or germs and other kinds of contamination. Health at the workplace improves for the workers because the robots can finally handle all the risky business. Falling objects in supermarkets especially when trying to reach out for items that are high up is also another area where commercial robots come in handy.

  • Breaks monotony

Doing the same thing repeatedly can be boring for humans. Robots do not know what bore4dom is and they can do the same thing repeatedly without becoming redundant or unproductive. They can relieve the humans of the repetitive duties so that the humans can tend to other jobs which are less boring.

Conclusion

The above and much more is what Universal Robots is all about. For safe, collaborative commercial robots that are changing the way things are done.
