What to do in Whistler Besides Skiing
Just a couple of hours outside of Vancouver, Whistler has a life of its own, unlike any other ski town in Canada. Although most people who visit know this park for skiing, and other fun slope activities, many people who visit never hit the incline! Instead, tourists tend also to enjoy these other fun local activities that will still give you the exciting feeling without having to deal with being chapped from windburn!
Hiking and Climbing
You could pair hiking and climbing with skiing if you didn’t mind walking all of your gear to the top of the mountain every time: but this is nice as a task all its own. Year-round trails offer you the opportunity to walk through tall, gorgeous trees, feel the crunch of fresh snow beneath your boots, and take in some of the cleanest air you’ve ever breathed. You’ll be able to hear every slight movement of wildlife, and the view as you make it to the top will leave you stunned. To enjoy this, you have to dress warm, wear some footwear that matches the season, and be prepared for a long hike- you won’t want to go back inside once you’ve started!
Gondola View Seeking
No views are as beautiful as the ones you can take in a while in Whistler. Beautiful snowy mountains, endless pale blue sky, and the beautiful architecture and warmth of the buildings that fill this land, all fit together perfectly. Taking a gondola ride between mountain peaks will have you stumbling over yourself to find real estate for sale in Whistler. If you’re scared of heights, it might be for the best if you skip this adventure, but for those who have a strong stomach and an even stronger sense of adventure, this is a part of any vacation in Whistler that you can’t miss.
Squamish-Lil’wat Cultural Centre
This gorgeous First Nations museum exists to show off the wealth of heritage and ingenuity of the people who lived off this land long before becoming known as Whistler. Beautiful art pieces, carvings, and sculpture, mixed with photos of the area’s people, will fill you with whimsy and adoration. There’s a depth to every part of this cultural center that will leave you feeling like you want to go back and look at more. You can hear more about the local cultures by joining a First Nations Feast hosted here every Sunday and Tuesday night, letting you meet the people who have classed this land ‘home’ for longer than can be remembered.
Spa Day

Unique local treatments are made even better by the surrounding views and serene feeling of the area.
