Following the most recent technological advancements in kitchen accessories, installation and maintenance have also become more complex. This being because more parts are being used and more mechanical components are being introduced into the mix. Among the equipment that requires some know how to fix is the touchless faucet.

Apart from being more complicated than their traditional counterparts, touchless faucets can refuse to work just because of a tiny error. Knowing this, it would be wise to identify how to fix the problems by yourself hence saving yourself some cash and ample time to allocate to other chores within your household.

Among the most common problems you may encounter even with the best touchless faucet are;

Cracked faucet spout/leaking faucet spout

If you witness faucet leaks from your spout, the most common issue would be breaking of the spout. Alternatively, the nut would have been poorly tightened, or the washer is worn out. In the case that you check each of the following and the issue is still persistent, consider testing for cracks on the spout and replace the spout for a new one.

Leaks

Although this is a common problem, it may arise from various parts. This may be due to worn out washers, broken parts or even untightened parts. If a leak occurs without getting noticed, you risk getting a dumpy kitchen place with water filling your kitchen cabinet. A situation that you would never wish to find yourself in.

In the case that you notice leaks in your system, it is only wise to contact your plumber as they will have an easy time spotting where the problem is arising from. While you take your time waiting for the plumber consider placing a bucket to tap the leaking water thus preventing wetting your cabinet. Alternatively turn off the hot and cold water supplies.

Poor installation

Most of the faucet problems can always be traced back to the poor installation. If you are not entirely keen on the installation of your faucet, it is possible to get various connections done poorly. Although it is cost efficient taking matters into your own hands, it is wise to follow the instructions to the latter while applying adequate energy to ensure that each part is rightfully installed in its required place.

To ensure that you avoid this kind of issues, ensure that you get instructions for the type of faucet you have acquired and that all parts are in the package. On the other hand, you may opt to get a plumber to do it for you. Although this may be a bit costly, it will save you the damages that arise from poor faucet installation.

Corrosion

Although this is not as common with touchless faucets, it may be a situation you may find yourself in depending on the material you settle for. To avoid this, however, settle for a brass built faucet as it is less likely to corrode compared to other material that is used in building faucets.

Spray misting from the faucet

Among the issues that get people worried most commonly is spray misting from faucets. Although it may be tempting to conclude that the faucet is broken this is not the case in most cases. Most often this comes up due to the aerator being clogged by small debris that may have been contained in the water.

To fix this, uninstall the aerator and clean it using clothing. Having done this, reinstall your aerator and check if water still mists from faucets. If this issue is persistent consider getting a plumber to help you out.
