Welcome to toddler land! Here the dictator is the mischievous and cute little kid who does everything to make you lose your calm. And as a parent, you bear it all happily. Regardless of their innocence and extreme sweetness, these little tough headed kids can be extremely difficult to deal with at times. They tend to do activities that again leave a trail of other activities for you to clean the slate! And what’s most exasperating? They aren’t tired of it and give you that toothless smile which convinces you to let them rule the roost.
Some Irritating Things That Toddlers Always Do That Can Be Extremely Beneficial for Them!
It’s natural to be irritated by the series of activities done by your toddler because you’re going to deal with the consequences after all. But most of the good and experienced child care centres in Melbourne like Kids and Co state that many of these annoying activities can be extremely beneficial for your little one. After all, they have been dealing with thousands of kids since they began their journey and have the reputation of caring for and educating them very well over the years. Obviously, you’d be curious to know about these activities and how are they beneficial for the tots! So, let’s not keep you waiting, read on!
- Scribbling on the walls — Oh how irritating! Those kids can actually put all the colours from their box to use and keep scribbling on your white sparkling wall. (The books are on the floor — clean, spic and span staring at you!) But do you know it’s actually great for them to write freely on open surfaces? This lets the toddler’s motor skills improve and they tend to get a better grip in holding the crayons. And they don’t get attracted to books much because it narrows their horizons while they desire to scribble just everywhere.
- The mess they make — You just can’t compete with a child’s energy of creating a wild mess in your home. They’ll scatter the sand, toys, even food and milk. While they are being so dirty on one hand, they are actually learning a lot on the other. And if you are patient and wise enough, they even learn to clean the mess by themselves.
- Request to hear the same book and watch the same show repeatedly — This often jars your nerves, but if your kid is asking to hear that story or watch a certain show again and again, this actually helps in their speech development. Additionally, they’ll also learn to get a better narrating power and enhance their learning skills as well.
- Being defiant — Toddlers soon become the dictators of your life as they understand that they are actually someone special in the house. This obviously makes them more defiant. And that’s why they wouldn’t listen to everything you say and convince you too. But remember, we aren’t bringing up robots and kids should have their say to express themselves better — and being defiant in this age is just the right start.
- Throwing tantrums — Well, don’t get offended by this. We know you’d be thinking that tantrums can’t ever be good. But it’s actually a reality! Tantrums help your kid throw away the bottled anger and emotions and they don’t sulk inside. This is of course a good trait for their better psychological health later!
So, didn’t we say some irritating habits of your toddlers can be totally beneficial? Do you agree with us after all?
